About me
I love showing the beauty of my home country, The Gambia, and the country next door, Senegal. I enjoy getting to know people from different backgrounds and cultures while guiding. If you are considering a birding trip to The Gambia or Senegal, please contact me. I would be grateful to be your guide.

I have been fascinated by nature, especially birds, since I was a young boy. When I was 15 years old, I joined the West African Bird Study Association (WABSA) and served as secretary of the association at my school level. After finishing secondary school, I volunteered for three years at the Abuko Nature Reserve and then proceeded to be certified by the Department of Parks and Wildlife Management as a birding guide at Abuko.
I began my professional guiding career with a company called Hidden Gambia in 2008, and in 2013 I went out on my own to become an independent birding guide. Since 2009, I have been a member of the Gambia Bird Guide Association, which is regulated by the Ministry of Tourism and has approximately 75 member-guides. Through all this experience, I have seen a lot, but even now not a day goes by without experiencing something new and exciting when I am out in the field.
In my spare time, I am involved with a bird club in my community called Lamin Bird Club (LBC). Several of my birding guide friends and I started LBC in 2018 for purposes of educating local Gambians (especially girls and women) about flora, fauna, and conservation. LBC also organizes activities such as tree plantings and area clean-ups. We contribute 3% of the money earned on birding trips to LBC.
